Students traveled to Mobile last week for the week-long session which culminated with\u00a0the graduation on July 24.\u00a0Congratulations to both the\u00a0valedictorian,\u00a0<strong>Woody Odom<\/strong> with AuburnBank, as well as salutatorian,\u00a0<strong>Matthew Oglesby<\/strong> with CB&amp;S Bank of Russellville.\u00a0This year, the school celebrated the 2,000th graduate since its inception in 1975.\u00a0<strong>Holly Shipp<\/strong> with Traditions Bank in Cullman received this designation.\u00a0Another\u00a0highlight of the final year of banking school is participation in the BankExec program. This is a computer-based bank balance sheet and income statement program that allows students to run a simulated bank. Twelve\u00a0teams were split amongst\u00a0three\u00a0communities to compete for best performance. Congratulations to the following winners:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Community A (Prosperity Bank) &#8211; <strong>Matthew Oglesby<\/strong>, CB&amp;S Bank in Russellville; <strong>Carla Givens<\/strong>, Citizens Bank, Inc. in Robertsdale; <strong>Dennis Wisener<\/strong>, Metro Bank in Heflin; <strong>Ross Terry<\/strong>, Renasant Bank in Decatur; and, <strong>Julius Peterson<\/strong>, Wells Fargo in Tuscaloosa.<\/li>\n<li>Community B (CNC Bank) &#8211; <strong>Jimmy Cockrell<\/strong>, Peoples Bank of Alabama in Cullman; <strong>Caleb Thompson<\/strong>, Escambia County Bank in Flomaton; <strong>Kimberly Buchan<\/strong>, Wells Fargo in Auburn; and, \u00a0<strong>Nick Jones<\/strong>, First State Bank of DeKalb County in Fort Payne.<\/li>\n<li>Community C (American Bank) &#8211; <strong>Maryann Gendron<\/strong>, Farmers &amp; Merchants Bank in Oxford; <strong>Raleigh Green<\/strong>, Bank Independent in Sheffield; <strong>Aaron White<\/strong>, First Community Bank in Daphne; and, <strong>Davis Dugger<\/strong>, Trustmark Bank in Mobile.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Look out world, there is a whole new group of\u00a0Alabama Banking School graduates!
